Description : This requirement is for a regenerative DC load capable of sinking 9500A at 50V, returning the power to the grid with a high degree of efficiency. The primary requirement of the system is to act as a constant resistance test load during acceptance testing and commissioning of a replacement highly stabilised DC current controlled power supply for the ISIS synchrotron, where testing with the real load is not practical.
