- Soft Market Testing Exercise Re The Refurbishment Of The Water Treatment Facility For The Ashby Canal
The Council is responsible for parts of the Ashby Canal, which is an asset of considerable community value. Full details of the canal and its environs are attached as Appendix 1. The water supply to the canal has been from a bore hole drawing on former mine workings. The water has been filtered using a 3 stage reed bed filter. Full details of the design of the current reed bed filter are attached as Appendix 2. Recently the reed bed has become blinded with ochre and is no longer working effectively. The Council is about to begin the process of procurement for a replacement reed bed filter and would like to ask the views of suppliers in confidential 1:1 sessions as to how the procurement should proceed.
