- For some time, the University of Manchester's curriculum management has relied on a custom add-on to Campus Solutions called Course Unit Information Publishing (CUIP) to record the basic components of curriculum specifications suitable for producing web pages and CMA durable information. Alongside this, we use a separate manual Word document-centred process for handling and approving new and amended Course Units and Programmes. Keeping these two sources of information synchronised by copying and pasting is a time-consuming, manual, and error-prone task, not helped by differing terminology in the Word and CUIP forms.
The Curriculum Content Management project is looking to; enhance the quality and availability of curriculum data, streamline administrative processes, support the University's regulatory obligations, and unlock the potential of its curriculum data. To achieve this the project is looking to provision a software solution to become a single point of truth for curriculum data, capturing detailed curriculum information and coupling it with management of the University's end-to-end curriculum lifecycle and seamless integration with other key university platforms.
The University is looking for a solution that will accommodate the diverse course offerings available across its three faculties and nine schools, as well as provide a platform for development and innovation for the future.
