Description : NHS North West London (NHS NW London) requires the provision of Identification and Referral to Improve Safety (IRIS) Training Services in various General Practices (GPs) across four (4) of the North West London boroughs: Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham and Westminster. IRIS is a general practice based domestic abuse training, support and referral programme for female patients aged 16 and above experiencing abuse from a current partner, ex-partner or family member. The training must be delivered in line with the IRIS standard on a practice-by-practice basis and is either delivered face to face or virtually depending on the General Practice requirements. Each General Practice identified needs to have the initial three training sessions (more if there is a turnover of staff etc).The success of the IRIS model informed the NICE guidance (NICE, 2014: recommendations 15 & 16) on effective primary care responses to Domestic Violence and Abuse and the associated NICE quality standards that have been published to support these (NICE, 2016).
