Initial contract to construct three permanent groundwater monitoring boreholes into areas of historic coal mining and overlying superficial deposits at one identified site in the Whickham Thorns area of Gateshead prior to Spring 2023. This contract will be extended in 2023 to an estimated further 21 boreholes across potentially 7 more sites in the Gateshead area during the following calendar year subject to successful completion of the initial works. Additionally, there may be a requirement for the supplier to source and install groundwater level monitoring equipment within in each borehole to allow for automated continuous monitoring of groundwater levels and conduct falling head permeability tests following initial borehole construction.
