Description : Proposal to build a multi-use teaching and research building using the innovative CobBauge method and to develop a multi-use garden outside the Sustainability Hub at Kirkby Lodge. The project extends the collaborative space for sustainability research, education and partnerships working providing learning spaces and sustainability research. It is anticipated that the CobBauge building will serve as an 'advertisement' for current research at University of Plymouth, and will encourage visiting student applicants to study at the University. Project also includes a high level of academic collaboration with the Faculty and a research project that is linked with a Normandy-based co-partner. The intended concept building utilises industry standard materials, although incorporates two layers cob (traditional material) composite walling. Intended build location is Kirkby Lodge carpark, which will remove carparking (including disabled spaces) to this area.
