Abstract: The sensory service provides for adult, children and young people. The children and young people service must be available to under 18 year olds or under 25 years with Special Educational Needs statement, living in Buckinghamshire with a sensory loss, visual, hearing or dual diagnosis.The Service must meet the statutory requirements placed on local authorities to provide:- Specialist assessment and support planning- Equipment assessment and provision- Registration of sensory loss- Information and Advice- Enablement services to individuals with hearing, visual and dual sensory disabilities and parents and carers of children who have a sensory disability.The successful provider must understand the principle legislation and statutory requirements relating to the provision of services.
