- Surveys before demolition and refurbishment are required under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. The surveys will be undertaken to comply with the duty to manage asbestos in premises. The aim of an asbestos survey is, as far as reasonably practical, to locate and assess all the ACMs present in the building and its purpose is to present the information collected in the way which allows the employer to manage the risk.
A refurbishment and demolition asbestos survey is required to be undertaken, in accordance to HSG264, Asbestos Regulations 2012 and the scheme asbestos management plan. The survey will locate and describe, as far as reasonably practicable, all ACMs in the building. The survey will be fully intrusive and involve destructive inspection, as necessary, to gain access to all areas, including those difficult to reach.
This survey will be undertaken on:
• 4 no. Commercial properties (industrial units)
• 25 No. residential properties (including detached garages)
• 1 no. Stable block / Barn
A full and thorough survey of the building will be necessary and will be conducted to determine the full extent of asbestos internally and externally of the areas designated at the aforementioned mentioned property.
