Description : Her Majesty-s Courts and Tribunals Services (HMCTS) Estate intends to procure a contract for Plexiglass and Polycarbonate screens, with an estimated value of GBP 2 million, to enable juries to perform their functions during trials while sitting closer than the 2 m safe-distancing guidelines of Public Health England, Wales and Scotland. The screens enable clear visibility and audibility for hearings in court rooms without the need for the juror to wear face coverings, and to retire to a room where they can discuss the case but be seated within 2 m of each other. There is also a need for the screens to separate defendants and advocates in courts when social distancing is not possible.
