Description:
Yate Town Council is seeking to appoint a contractor to design and build the refurbishment of the existing Peg Hill Skatepark. The anticipated budget for this project is £450,000 excluding VAT; this value is inclusive of a 10% contingency budget (£45,000). Full procurement description is included within the Peg Hill design brief, however, please find below the project priorities and design specification: The Peg Hill Skate Park refurbishment seeks to achieve the following priorities: a. Provide a 25year life cycle (minimum); b. Use of sustainable, hardwearing materials with long life cycles that are resistant to climate change (extreme wet/ heat) and anti-social behaviour; c. Improved health and safety, areas for weather shade, materials that are low heat conducting d. Low impact on the climate and planet, refurbishing/ reusing/ recycling as much as possible; using materials and practices that are sustainable e.g. low carbon footprint, chemical free, supportive of the local economy and local workforce; e. Value for public investment, a design with low maintenance and risk of repair; f. Expansion of inclusive features e.g. disability, neurodiversity, making space for girls; g. A design suitable for varying abilities and disciplines - beginner to advanced level users, for large and small wheels; h.
