Description:
The Main Contract works is for the construction of a new footbridge (BBM 9G Woburn Road footbridge bridge) to facilitate the decommissioning of the current Woburn Road Foot Crossing. The current Foot Crossing is situated on the Bletchley and Bedford Midland Line (BBM) @ 14m 10245Yds.

The scope of the works is the construction of the new bridge and associated works as per the current draft AFCs.

The works to be carried out include but not limited to the list below:
1. Consultation with stakeholders to agree the level of welfare provision, access arrangements, service diversions and other works necessary to enable commencement of the works.
2. Procurement and fabrication of columns, steps, intermediate landing areas and main span of the footbridge, as well as, waterproofing and footway surfacing of the of the new structure.
3. Design and construction of any temporary works require to complete scope.
4. Undertaking of enabling works to create a worksite suitable for the works.
5. Diversion of the existing drainage ditch, into a new piped system for a total of up to 40lm, complete with Soluform Pre-filled concrete bag works headwalls on either end.
6. Construction of the piled foundation & pile caps either side of the railway lines to support the installation of the new steel Circular Hollow Section (CHS) columns
7. Construction of landing areas for access/egress onto and off steps
