Description : UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is planning to award a contract for the provision of CLARIOstar PLUS plate readers, to BMG LABTECH.The requirement is for UKHSA's Porton Technology Development Group (TDG) and the plate readers will be used as part of their work to determine and test novel antimicrobial compounds, develop fluorescent probes to support investigation of resistance mechanisms, develop bacterial detection systems and investigate pathogenic resistance to antibiotics. These projects require testing of many different conditions using absorbance, luminescence and fluorescence methods. UKHSA believes that the CLARIOstar PLUS plate reader is currently the only system on the market capable of meeting our specific requirement of fluorescence and luminescence detection performed by a patented linear variable filter monochromator, including having a linear variable dichroic mirror.
