Description : The CVL Transformation programme of works forms an important part of the South Wales Metro and includes an ambitious and extensive range of rail works including electrification of circa 170km of track, new stations, major refurbishment / extension of stations and associated ancillary works.
Programme constraints dictate that a supplier be appointed to undertake the works prior to completion of detailed design. The supplier shall be appointed on a design and build basis. The supplier shall be furnished with available outline designs, which they shall adopt and provide design liability for and, subsequently undertake the detailed design and installation. The qualitative and commercial elements of this procurement event therefore seek to ensure TfW appoint a supplier who will deliver the works in a collaborative and cost-efficient manner.
The overarching deliverables for the works are:
- Establish and manage a materials distribution center (MDC) within a locality of the works which facilitates storage and expeditious delivery of materials to the worksites.
