- Middlesbrough Council is procuring on behalf of all 5 Tees Valley Authorities the provision of service to provide a waste processor for food waste collected by the 5 Local Authorities which are Middlesbrough, Stockton, Redcar and Cleveland, Hartlepool and Darlington. The Council's trade waste service currently collects waste and recycling from all over the Tees Valley Areas. New government legislation (the Environment Act 2021) requires for the Council's to offer a separate food recycling collection and to meet this requirement we will be introducing a new food waste collection service for all its new and existing customers.
