- Tenders are invited for Derry City and Strabane District Council invites tenders from suitably qualified firms for the supply, installation, staff training, commissioning, and servicing of software for the bar operation within the Alley Arts and Conference Centre. Incorporating Strabane Visitor Information Centre (VIC) with a shared café and evening bar provision the Alley has a main auditorium with a 270 raked seating arrangement. This space has the flexibility to be converted to cabaret style with a capacity of 150 seats. The Alley also utilises the café bar as a dedicated performance space with a capacity of 80 people. The bar service is operated under a conference licence by the Alley Arts Centre with the sale of beverages and snacks. The Alley currently operates two stations with touch screen monitors, integrated cash drawers, receipt printers and standalone PDQ machines. It is the intention of the Alley to add a third terminal to meet peak demand preshow and during performance intervals. These tills are operated by casual front of house staff. Under the current arrangements, bar till functionality is limited, and upgrades are not available. The current till system has no stock control functionality and cannot generate reports on the levels of stock ordered, received and sold.
