- sportscotland is seeking for a GIS system to provide a visual representation of where peopletake part in sport and demographics of local communities. This will allow those in the sportingsystem to identify gaps easily and map other datasets which provide an understanding ofpopulations and local communities.sportscotland would aim to take a phased approach, with phase one creating the base layerswith sportscotland data and other public datasets e.g. SIMD. The second phase would createa bespoke GIS solution for each partner allowing them to add their own data.sportscotland recognises that any system is dependent on whether data is shared bypartners, and its quality.
