The goal of this programme is to facilitate the development of a new kind of nuclear power plant, one which can be build predominantly in a factory and rapidly deployed to a range of sites in the UK and internationally. These plants will use modular and advanced manufacturing techniques, and will utilise the best expertise from the UK nuclear industry to deliver electricity to the grid at a much lower cost than traditional nuclear plants and at a price which is comparable with renewable sources.
