- - Powys County Council are committed to supporting people to remain independent in their homes for as long as possible. For some people there may come a time when the additional benefit of living in a residential care home may be required. - People are living longer, and public expectations are changing. In addition, the projected demographic in Powys will see an increased demand for specialist dementia and nursing care. - Powys County Council's ambition is to provide high quality, sustainable care home provision for the residents of Powys that is fit for future generations. - Powys County Council are committed to delivering the right type of care that enables people to live the lives they want close to their family, friends and community. - To achieve these outcomes Powys County Council are exploring the development of five area homes that will offer a flexible service, making great use of technology in an environment that can offer the best opportunity for people to maintain their independence. - This is a long-term vision which will require careful planning with the Council working alongside the people of Powys to help shape and design the service. - The Council is undertaking an initial preliminary market engagement exercise to ascertain the current level of interest from potential partners willing to collaborate with the Council. - The Council is considering engaging a long-term development partner(s) and/or provider(s) who would initially manage the older per...
