Description : Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) has recently undertaken a consultation on a proposed bus franchising scheme in accordance with section 123E of the Transport Act 2000 (as amended by the Bus Services Act 2017) and is currently in the process of considering the impact of Covid-19 upon the underlying assumptions within the franchising scheme assessment. The purpose of this market engagement exercise is to enable TfGM to gain a better understanding of the capabilities of the market and available technology that could support a potential reformed bus market in Greater Manchester (should any decision be taken to make the proposed franchising scheme).
