Abstract: As part of a potential major capital investment upgrade on the ORE Catapult Blyth site, it may be necessary to demolish the current administration building, Offshore House, and also a structural framed annex building close by.Offshore House is approx. 18m x 25m and is a 3 storey, flat concrete roof and brick building, built in the 1920-s.The structural annex building is approx. 18m x 50m and is a single storey steelwork framed construction adjoining as a lean-to from the blade testing facility.The building is steel clad and has a pitch roof. It has a surrounding brick wall up to windowsill level.The demolition works would be undertaken on an operational working site and would be undertaken in compliance with current CDM Regulations.All opportunities for recycling and salvaging materials in the most sustainable means possible would be encouraged.
