Fixed Line Telephony
Essex County Council (ECC) has over 300 fixed line telephone numbers that have been in operation for a number of years. ECC is aware of the PSTN switch off in 2025. Additionally, the way the organisation works has changed as a result of Covid. In light of these changes, ECC has been undertaking discovery work to review its current as-is position for fixed phone lines, to identify dependencies with other projects around telephony in contact centres, mobile phones and our data network (e.g. VOIP, Teams) and to inform decision making around how we provide staff with “traditional” telephony in the future.ECC now requires a supplier to provide and manage its residual fixed line telephony services from 1st July 2023.This Request for Information (RFI) is made under the Network Services 2 (RM3808) direct award process.
