It involves the continuous, automatic and remote monitoring of real time emergencies and lifestyle changes over time in order to manage and minimise risks associated with independent living. The use of assistive technology such as basic lifeline alarms and other equipment is used to support independent living, avoid admission to hospital, and prevent or delay admission to residential care.
