- Salford DIT have two Data Centres on site that provide IT services to the University both Data Centres are protected by a UPS and a generator in case of any site power failures. The UPS's ( Uninterrupted Power Supply ) provides battery backup power to the Data Centres in the event of a power failure. In the event that the UPS fails all power will be lost to the Data Centre with the loss of critical IT services.
