Description : The existing refrigerant chillers located within Plantroom No 4 on the first floor of the Countess of Chester, were originally installed in the 1970's to provide cooling to a number of existing AHUs. Two existing external remote air cooled condensers are located at roof level mounted on a structural frame and 'big foot system'. Refrigeration pipework extends from the external condensers to serve the chiller units within the plantroom. Chilled water plant serves the following Air Handling Units (AHU): 3No. Air Handling Units located in Plantroom 3 (AHU1, AHU2 and AHU3.3)1No. AHU located in Plantroom 2 (AHU 2.1) 1No. AHU located in Plantroom 5 with 2No. Cooling Coils (AHU 5.2). The Project consists of the replacement of the existing refrigerant chillers located within plantroom 4, the associated air cooled condensers mounted on the roof externally and the primary/secondary chilled water plant.
