- Through this deep listening exercise, we wish to gather qualitative intelligence to complement the quantitative data presented in Wigans Children's JSNA, as well as guiding health-strengthening actions with our children and young people in the places they live, play, learn and work. The primary objectives of the commission are to: • Understand the health experiences of our children's young people and family communities including seldom heard voices and those who are disproportionately impacted by health inequalities. • Support us to identify a framework for Child Health in Wigan, that makes improvements to the families, children's and young people's lives. • Uncover both the risks and opportunities related to child health recognising the potential for positive interventions, that focus on community empowerment and whole system changes. We are particularly interested in understanding how the wider determinants of health within our environment, including money and resources, living conditions, family factors, housing, peers and social groups, education, and employment impacts on children and young people's physical and mental wellbeing across the borough to inform system wide child health transformation.
