  • Food Standards Scotland (FSS) requires a Service Provider to provide a survey service of chemical contaminants in plant-based protein products (PBPP). Plant-based protein products include meat alternative products such as tofu, mince, non-meat pieces, and protein powders. The survey service will provide sampling data on the levels of mycotoxins and plant-based alkaloids in a range of PBPP (containing either soy protein, wheat protein, pea protein or mycoprotein). The results of the survey will be used to inform future surveillance plans for plant-based protein products.
