Description:
The Council is planning to re-contract the delivery of nursing and residential care services for older people, based on existing care homes. This will ensure care services are available to older people whilst the Councils progresses a development framework for new schemes to bridge the gap between supply and demand in Cornwall.

The current The Joint Care Homes contract is coming to an end on 31 March 2026. This contract covered all care and nursing services, included residential and nursing care services for older people. The council has taken the decision to establish a separate contract for older people care homes, starting on 1st April 2026.

The Invitation To Tender for the new Care Services - Older People contract is planned to commence in Augusts 2025.
