Adult Substance Misuse Services - Market Engagement Event
Medway Council requires an effective integrated adult substance treatment, wellbeing and recovery service to ensure people who use substances have access to a range of support options (including harm reduction interventions, treatment, psychosocial support, and recovery/wellbeing services).The service will provide access to all, ensuring preventative support and trauma-informed tailored treatment plans to reduce drug and/or alcohol related harms in Medway. The service will provide treatment and support for people who use substances, which includes illicit drugs, prescribed drugs, alcohol, and new psychoactive substances (such as Spice). To achieve the best outcomes, Medway Council will require the provider to focus resources on those where substance misuse has the greatest impact on their own lives and the lives of others (in particular their families and communities), and those most likely to change their behaviours. Medway Council will require substance support services to take the service out into the community, particularly for those who face severe and multiple disadvantages, with the aim to reduce accessibility barriers and improve outcomes for the most vulnerable people in Medway. Partnership working across the local system is pivotal in achieving this and multiagency work will be a key priority for substance support services.
