Project Description :The Defence Geographic Centre (DGC) is a component of the UK National Centre for Geospatial Intelligence (NCGI). The DGC is responsible for the provision of geospatial information and geospatial intelligence data for UK Defence planning, operations, and training. A major part of this role is the production of map and chart products alongside requirements for the production of increasingly accurate digital data. In order to meet its commitments, the DGC undertakes a range of production programmes, one of which is known as the Multinational Geospatial Co-production Program (MGCP). In the vast majority of cases UK produced data will have a feature density of 1:50,000. Satellite imagery is the primary source for extracting MGCP data. The requirement of this contract is the production of approximately 150 1°x1° cells, split into work packages of between three and six cells at a time, produced to specification and by approved scheduled dates. The Extraction Guide within the MGCP TRD, Geospatial Analysis Integrity Tool (GAIT) software and the data exchange format will be used by the contractors to capture accurate and fully attributed two-dimensional 1°x1° vector cells at 1:50,000 density using high resolution imagery, the current TRD and sources provided by the DGC.
